indeed I would say (as an absolute minimum):
- harvested area (+unit)
- Area of gross plot in case of net plot (+unit)
- seed count
The best way to document planting area is probably recording
- number of rows in (net) plot, inter-row distance (in cm), length of row (between the two extreme sampled plants) (in cm)
- distance between plants (in cm) within rows
- nr of plants per planting hole
In case a net plot is used, the number and length of the gross plot should be similarly recorded.
For yield measurements, emphasising the need to document weight units is also key.
