i noticed this happening intermittently but couldn't figure out how to reliably reproduce it. but it seems you're right that it only happens when the git tool window is minimized

Another issue is that when displaying the Git log at the bottom, if multiple Git repositories are open in a folder, both the tab and the Git log will be displayed simultaneously.

i was able to reproduce this with a single git repo. i'll split that into a separate issue though
