Drag and drop does not work

If you drag and drop a file from file explorer into the drag and drop section, it makes a popup asking you to select a file, even after you have selected one.
I am on Windows 11 24H2, using Chrome 138.0.7204.169 (Official Build) (64-bit) (cohort: Stable). The file I tested this with is 8K in size. If it helps, the popup is in dark mode.
