Self Mode on Android 10 16.4+ using adb ?

Google has disabled the automatic wireless projection startup for Android 10 and below in Android Auto versions 16.4 and higher.

For units with adb access and shizuku, can we start self mode using adb commands or by initiating a wireless connection to self using a Headunit server or even a USB cable back to self?

Eventually 16.3 version will be forced to update and I can't see this as a permanent solution so looking for alternatives as the manufacturer is not providing an Android 11 upgrade.

Could work, but I don't know and I don't have a real android 10 device and emulators are not working very great.

adb shell am broadcast -a com.google.android.apps.auto.wireless.setup.receiver.wirelessstartup.START -n com.google.android.projection.gearhead/com.google.android.apps.auto.wireless.setup.receiver.WirelessStartupReceiver --es ip_address "127.0.0.1" --ei projection_port 5288

Will maybe work and you need to start via intent headunit revived.

Another way I just think about is to run the android auto headunit server in the developer options of the app. You open it, start the server. Go to HUREV, go to Settings, set to Headunit Server, Manual and select 127.0.0.1. This could work too. Please try it out:)

I would like to report back that both suggested solutions work .

I would suggest updating the Headunit Revived app instead of saying Android Auto is blocked on Android 10 with 16.4+ , its now better to link them to a wiki with these solutions.

For Sound : I had to disable Audio sink to get it to play directly from the device. @andreknieriem any reason why it does not work through the AA connection?
