Code of conduct

Our pledge

We want participation in this project to be harassment-free for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

Expected behavior

  • be respectful of differing viewpoints and experience levels
  • give and accept constructive feedback gracefully
  • prioritize technical accuracy over being agreeable; disagreement stated respectfully is valuable and expected
  • accept responsibility for mistakes, and learn from them
  • focus on what is best for users of the project

Unacceptable behavior

  • sexualized language or imagery, and unwelcome sexual attention
  • trolling, insults, derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  • public or private harassment
  • publishing others' private information without explicit permission
  • sustained disruption of discussions
  • other conduct reasonably considered inappropriate in a professional setting

Scope

Applies in all project spaces — issues, pull requests, discussions, commit messages — and whenever someone is representing the project in public.

Enforcement

Report unacceptable behavior to conduct@usable.dev. Reports are reviewed promptly and confidentially. Maintainers are obligated to respect the privacy and security of reporters.

Maintainers may warn, temporarily ban, or permanently ban participants, and will explain moderation decisions where appropriate. Maintainers who do not follow this code in good faith may face consequences determined by other project leaders.
