Smog Trademark and Visual Identity Policy

1. Ownership

The name “Smog”, the Smog logo, and all associated brand assets are the exclusive intellectual property of OrbitBits.

This document defines the permitted use of the Smog name and visual identity.

2. Relationship to the Software License

Smog is distributed as proprietary software in binary form.

The license provided with the Smog binary applies only to the use of the software and does not grant any rights to use the Smog name, logo, or visual identity for promotional, branding, or commercial purposes.

3. Permitted Use

You may:

  • Refer to Smog factually (e.g., “Installed using Smog")
  • Link to the official OrbitBits repository and releases
  • Mention Smog in documentation, tutorials, or educational materials
  • Use the unmodified logo solely to link directly to the official Smog repository

4. Prohibited Use

You may not:

  • Use the Smog name or logo to promote your own products or services
  • Imply endorsement, sponsorship, or partnership without written authorization
  • Modify, recolor, distort, or create derivative versions of the logo
  • Create derivative logos or branding using the Smog trademark
  • Register domains, organizations, or social media accounts using the Smog name
  • Sell products using the Smog name or logo
  • Redistribute modified binaries under the Smog name

5. Commercial Use

Any commercial use of the Smog name or visual identity requires prior written authorization from OrbitBits.

6. Enforcement

Unauthorized use of the Smog name or visual identity may result in legal action where applicable.
