Under Windows, you can use Windows services to control program startup, manually set Windows services to automatically start, or use github.com/kardianos/service to manage services.

I stumbled across this issue the other day and ended up building something from scratch to tackle exactly this — a clean, cross-platform self-restart module for Go binaries after update.

It checks if Go is installed, handles restart logic via temp scripts (with traps and all the jazz), and works independently. Should pair well with this project or be plug-and-play on its own.
