Hi, this is Steve Baskauf, who along with Campbell Webb created Darwin-SW. Since I retired, the vanderbilt.edu email in the agroportal page no longer works. It can be replaced with steve.baskauf@gmail.com .

You should note that Darwin-SW is no longer under development. It was developed as a possible graph model to be used to generate Linked Data along with the Darwin Core RDF Guide. However, there is now a conceptual model under review for addition to Darwin Core, and I anticipate that any further development of a graph model to enable use of Darwin Core as RDF would be consistent with this conceptual model. So we don't have any plans to change Darwin-SW in the future (although it would still be available for use if anyone chose to use it). So although I'm happy to remain the contact point/maintainer for Darwin-SW in agroportal, it is unlikely that there will be any changes to it in the future.

As far as any relationship of Darwin-SW with the TDWG Ontology, there is none. The TDWG Ontology was developed many years ago and most parts of it are deprecated. Two parts of it had not been officially deprecated, awaiting replacement by TDWG standards were under development. The first part was related to the draft NCD standard. That draft standard has been replaced by the ratified Latimer Core standard. The second part will be replaced by TCS2, which is in the final stages of ratification as a TDWG standard. When that ratification is complete, all parts of the TDWG Ontology will be deprecated.
