Khandoker Tanjim Ahammad

Doctoral Researcher in Agricultural Engineering at the University of Hohenheim
Guest Lecturer in Robotics in Agriculture and Renewable Energy and Sustainable Energy in Agriculture

I work at the intersection of agricultural engineering, plant phenotyping, computer vision, robotics, and intelligent sensing. My research develops reliable methods for extracting meaningful plant and crop traits from UAV thermal and RGB imagery, LiDAR, depth and hyperspectral data, three-dimensional measurements, and automated phenotyping systems.

Current research focus

  • UAV thermal and RGB imaging for crop monitoring and field phenotyping
  • Depth-sensor 3D phenotyping of maize morphology
  • Computer vision and deep learning for plant-trait extraction
  • Hyperspectral imaging for non-destructive plant diagnostics
  • ROS 2, RViz, MoveIt 2, and robotic phenotyping with RGB, thermal, hyperspectral, LiDAR, depth, and RGB-D sensors
  • Particle-size-aware modelling for Agri-PV soiling and maintenance
