Cross-instance cluster RPC no longer runs over JeroMQ. A new Cluster RPC (Fabric) page covers the current transport-only prototype status and what's still ahead of it (invocation semantics parity, Element-registry dispatch, addressing, auth, discovery). Linked from N-Tier Architecture and called out in the 3.9 release notes.
