Agent skills for interacting with Capawesome, Capacitor and the Ionic Framework.

Features

  • πŸ€– Agent-optimized: Every instruction is unambiguous and machine-actionable for AI agents.
  • πŸ“± Cross-platform: Covers both Android and iOS platform specifics.
  • πŸ”„ Capacitor Upgrades: Upgrade Capacitor apps and plugins across major versions (4 β†’ 8).
  • πŸ“¦ Plugin Setup: Install and configure 160+ Capacitor plugins from official and community sources.
  • ☁️ Cloud Integration: Set up native builds, live updates, and app store publishing with Capawesome Cloud.
  • πŸš€ Automated First: Tries automated upgrade before falling back to manual steps.
  • πŸ› Error Handling: Common issues and fixes included in every skill.
  • πŸ” Up-to-date: Always supports the latest Capacitor version.
  • πŸ”Œ MCP-aware: Detects the hosted Capawesome MCP Server and prefers it for Capawesome documentation.

Missing a feature? Just open an issue and we'll take a look!

MCP Server

Capawesome also offers a hosted MCP Server. It serves the Capawesome documentation straight from the source β€” so it never goes stale β€” and, with an API token, the full Capawesome Cloud management API. There is nothing to install and nothing to keep up to date:

https://mcp.capawesome.io/mcp

Add it to Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http capawesome "https://mcp.capawesome.io/mcp"

The documentation tools need no account and no token. To add the Capawesome Cloud tools, create an API token and use:

claude mcp add --transport http capawesome "https://mcp.capawesome.io/mcp?toolsets=all" \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"

For Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, and other MCP clients, see the capawesome-mcp skill.

MCP Server or skills?

Use both β€” they cover different ground:

MCP Server Skills
Capawesome plugin, CLI, and Cloud documentation βœ… always current βœ… bundled
Capacitor Firebase and Capacitor MLKit plugin documentation βœ… always current βœ… bundled
Official Capacitor, Community, and RevenueCat plugins ❌ βœ…
Capacitor and Ionic upgrade and migration procedures ❌ βœ…
Ionic Appflow, Ionic Enterprise SDK, and Capgo migrations ❌ βœ…
Managing Capawesome Cloud apps, builds, and deployments βœ… via the CLI
Works without a network round trip ❌ βœ…

The skills check for the MCP Server and prefer it for Capawesome documentation whenever it is connected, falling back to their bundled reference files when it is not.
