I am immensely proud of what we achieved with the UniqueBible App. It has provided a solid, database-driven foundation for examining scriptures for years. However, technology has moved forward, and so have we. I am pleased to announce its official successor: BibleMate AI.
To describe this generational advance in our app development, consider the motor car:
- 🚗 The old UniqueBible App is like a petrol car — primarily database-driven, with a handful of AI tools that remained entirely bolted on and disconnected from the core study workflow.
- 🚙 The previous BibleMate AI was like a hybrid — combining database retrieval and AI features, but confined to limited integration within a single, restrictive framework.
- ⚡ The latest BibleMate AI is like a fully electric vehicle — entirely AI agent-driven and fully integrated.
We have moved beyond simple search results into a fully automated, agentic workflow. The new BibleMate AI features the simplest, most minimal interface possible, yet it delivers maximised study quality.
Beneath this clean exterior lies a seamless integration between rigorous database retrieval and intelligent AI agents. The application actively orchestrates these tools for you—effortlessly retrieving the precise historical and linguistic nuances of ancient texts and applying advanced AI reasoning—bringing unparalleled depth, automation, and clarity to your Bible studies.

Unique Bible App can run in different modes, both online and offline, for examples:
GUI mode - a Qt-based Multi-Window Desktop Application, designed to run UBA on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS
Http-server - a web server that supports regular browsing and APIs, e.g. https://bible.gospelchurch.uk
Terminal mode - the quickest way to run UBA; the most comprehensive in terms of feature coverage; all platforms supported; local or via ssh
AI Features have been integrated into UniqueBible App. Five backends are supported:
- OpenAI / ChatGPT
- Google AI / Gemini
- X AI / Grok
- Grok Cloud API
- Mistral AI API.
