Absolute Johannes factotum
- SCP-6136 (?)
- SCP-6136 is a set of homemade pliers with the unique ability to store and transfer memories. It acts like a "memory stick," where memories, particularly traumatic ones, can be stored within it, and then experienced by others without them having to endure the original event. The object's physical form can also change based on the memories associated with it; for example, if a user associates it with a paint gun, it can transform into one. This allows the Foundation to ethically study traumatic experiences by having personnel review them through the pliers, bypassing the need for direct exposure or traditional research methods. It is contained in a special safety deposit box at Site-12 that requires a constantly updating biosignature of all Foundation personnel to prevent them from opening it themselves, and its use is strictly overseen by the Department of Atypical Persuasion.
- Dental fear (?)
- The article on dental fear, also known as odontophobia or dentophobia, describes a common negative emotional response to dental treatment, ranging from mild anxiety to severe phobia. This fear often stems from past traumatic experiences, learned behaviors from others, or a fear of pain, and can lead to avoiding dental care, which worsens oral health and perpetuates the cycle of fear. Symptoms can be emotional, physiological, cognitive, and behavioral, and various diagnostic tools exist to assess its severity. Management strategies include psychocognitive approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, modeling, and distraction techniques, as well as pharmacological options such as premedication, conscious sedation, and, in rare cases, general anesthesia.
