This is a python tool that scrapes Duckduck GO then produces a csv of search results for the news topics I keep track of. This script was written on my Linux Machine (Bitty B00p) in the python language.
To customize the script after downloading, update the search terms (queries) in a text editor.
For example, updating the queries to ["Apple", "Bottom", "Jeans"] would download 3 csvs of the 25 top news results containing the word "Apple", "Bottom", and "Jeans"- with each csv containing the headline, url, description, and news source.
I write a monthly newsletter tracking major changes in privacy governing activism and technology https://raelyn.info/newsletter/ Here are the search terms I use to source content monthly:
"'age verification' AND 'law' OR 'policy' OR 'rule'" "'Data' OR 'Detention' AND 'Center'""" "'Data breach' AND 'Federal'" "'Protest' AND 'Student' OR 'federal' OR 'worker'" "'federal' AND 'website'"
